About the 2016 Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival
When and Where
Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival is taking place this year on Sunday, October 16, from 11 AM to 4 PM, at the YWCA, 525 N. Bonita Avenue. The YWCA is located just south of St. Mary’s west of I10. It’s centrally located and easy to get to from all over Tucson.
Admission to the Festival is free.
There’s plenty of free parking.
For bike riders, there will also be ample bike parking on site. Living Streets Alliance will be there with its Bike Valet (and we thank Ajo Bikes for sponsoring the Bike Valet).
Or, come by bus -- or even on the streetcar, if you’re up for a little walk.
Our Vision for the Festival
Demonstrating, Educating, Celebrating The motto of the Festival expresses how this family event is as much a community expo as it is a celebration of local and regional actions promoting sustainability.
Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival provides a popular annual event that brings together key individuals, organizations, and companies in our community who are working to help us not just envision but also create a resilient future for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
This Festival is your opportunity to share what’s happening now and explore what each of us individually and all of us as a community can do heading into the future.
What’s This Festival About? Exhibits and activities will address all aspects of sustainability:
What’s Going On at the Festival
Exhibits, demonstrations, visionary speakers, Green School recognition, electric vehicles, solar cooking -- along with local food and music -- activities for all ages: See more on the Festival Features page.
Volunteers are also welcome to help on October 16, with set-up and break-down, with logistics during the Festival, with exhibitor support, and with the Pledge Wall.
We would like to film the speakers, and collect plenty of pictures for Festival follow-up and for next year’s promotional materials. So if you are handy with a camera, let us know.
